In New York last week, there was a series of special events known as BSI Weekend!
This was my first opportunity to attend events such as the William Gillette Luncheon and the Gaslight Gala. Did you attend this year’s BSI Weekend? Any interesting stories to share?
If not this year, have you made the trip in the past? Or do you plan to go one day?
Yes, I’ve made it in the past, for varying times and various function. Though I couldn’t make it this year, it’s something no Sherlockian who possibly can should miss at least once. Go once, and you’re sure to go again another time.
Now that I’ve gone to BSI Weekend, I understand what you mean. I had a lot of fun this time and I’m very tempted to go again. 🙂
This was my third BSI weekend and I was so happy to finally meet some fellow Watsonians. First of all our Carla Buttons, she’s a nice and charming young lady. And also, albeit too briefly, our Quiz Master Denny “Kirby” Dobry, Bob “Willow” Katz, Greg “Robin” Ruby, Carla “Lily” Coupe, Bonnie “Lady” MacBird, Robert “Dusty” Stek, and Al “Darwin” Gregory (plus others who are fellow JHWS members and that I already knew from other Sherlockian events). Our Carla gave me the prizes for our team victory in the 2015 Annual Treasure Hunt and they are absolutely gorgeous!
It was, as usual, a great experience. The only problem is “so many nice people to talk to, and so little time…”
Maybe next time we could try to do something specifically JHWS-related. Though it’s hard, because the weekend (stretching from Wednesday through Sunday) is already so packed with events that you can’t squeeze anything else in…
It was a very exciting week. I’m so happy I could meet fellow Watsonians, though I have to agree with you – so many nice people to talk to, and so little time…
I really hope we get to meet again at BSI Weekend. I was so happy that I got to meet you!
This was my fourth of fifth time attending the BSI Weekend. It is a lot of fun, and it is a great way to meet others who share my interest in Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. I usually spend half of my time going to BSI Weekend events and half of my time sightseeing and going to the theater. If I had not been at the Weekend this year I would not have learned of the John H. Watson Society.
I’m glad I could meet you this year. It was my first BSI Weekend, but I’m tempted to go again. The events are great and I spent every free moment I had sightseeing.
