Three days . . . ? Holmes would do a two-day long chemical experiment and then play the violin for a day. Watson would read, write and (depending on when) relax in their rooms or in his rooms with Mary or ? . . . . Perhaps a dinner at Simpson’s in the Strand or Goldini’s . . .
