Born July 9, 1935, Williams was the husband of Dame Judi Dench. Williams portrayed Watson in every Canonical story for BBC Radio 4 between 1989 and 1998.

Michael Williams is in the upper echelons as one of the best Watsons, his humor, and style, and especially his vocal ability brought Watson to life. And still does whenever we listen to these wonderful audio performances. And when I do, I am always happily surprised by his portrayal. Happy Birthday, Michael.
