Hi All:
You will find attached the answer file for the Treasure Hunt just ended. I had hoped to add the accepted alternative answers to this file but time does not permit. I did add just one alternative answer to the document; see question #12. As no competitors submitted the answer sought for #12, and 99% submitted the same alternative answer, that alternative was accepted.
I hope you had fun with the 2016 version of the hunt and, like me, you are looking forward to the 2017 edition when the amazing Michele Lopez serves as Treasure Hunt Master.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Margie
Hello, All Treasure Hunters–you super smart and persistent folks,
Daisy here. I want to personally give extreme kudos to our Treasure Hunt Master, Margie Deck (JWHS Gwen). Since the Hunt is still fresh in your minds, you are no doubt somewhat aware of what it has taken Margie to write the hunt. I followed along for months, constantly marveling at her canonical knowledge, inventiveness, vocabulary, and attention to details. Just her answer document was a stunner. She and I got up close and personal when we went to my family home just over the North Cascades in Washington to critique and prepare the final TH questions. We spent quite a few hours on this, just to make sure the questions made sense and gave our intrepid hunters a way to get into each question. After this experience, I was even further amazed at Margie’s expertise as “The Pawky Puzzler.”
I hope, now that August is over, that you all are glad you did the Hunt. I hope you will return next year and compete with Margie and me and, perhaps, other Sound of the Baskervilles (Seattle) team members when Reggie of Uno Studio Holmes tries to stump us all.
Until then and just now, please give Margie a flip of the deerstalker and twirl of the cane for all that she has done for the JHWS and all Sherlockians.
Yours in Sherlock, Sheila, JHWS Daisy
Thank you Margie for preparing the Treasure Hunt quiz. I can’t imagine how long it must have taken to prepare the questions.
JHWS Hyacinth
Thank you so much for your kind words. I enjoyed the process very much, and I am so grateful for Daisy’s help. She saved the day in so many ways.
Now back to painting furniture which requires great patience and is wonderful practice for Treasure Hunting skills. 🙂
Margie, Congratulations on your IHOSE interview. You deserve the accolades for all your hard work.
Thanks Chips! It was very kind of Rob Nunn and Scott Monty to prepare the piece. I never pass up an opportunity to tell people about the Treasure Hunt. I’m quite sure my loved ones are thinking I should shut up already–at least for a little while. 🙂
