Upon the Terrace for Don Yates, Our “Pal”

We received word from Andrea Stewart (JHWS “Asta”) that our dear “Pal”, Don Yates, passed away earlier today.

The friendship between Don Yates and Don Libey (“Buttons”) was the cornerstone of our Society, which was founded on April 11, 2013, as a birthday gift from Don Libey to Don Yates.

Our deepest condolences go to his family and friends.

  1. My sincere sympathy to his family and friends.
Let us hope the fates are kind, and our Buttons and Pal are together again discussing the good doctor and a certain consulting detective.

  2. The Sherlockian/Watsonian world lost a giant yesterday. Don Libey and I cherished Don and Joanne Yates as dear friends and I treasure every moment we had the priviledge to share. I hope Dr. Yates and my beloved Don find each other soon and resume their many long conversations about the wonderful world of Dr. Watson…preferably with some good food and a couple of very dry martinis.

  3. We have lost a true friend and founder for our group. Our Sherlockian World is darker too for our loss. Our prayers and deepest symphonies to his lover ones. Mary and Ron Lies

  4. We have lost a Sherlockian of the highest order and a great friend. RIP across the Reichenbach Don. Condolences to the loved ones you left behind.

  5. My deepest condolences to his many loved ones. He has left such an impact in the world of Sherlockians.
