About the author: JAMES C O’LEARY is Editor-in-Chief of the Watsonian, and a charter member of the John H Watson Society (“Pippin”). He is also a member of the Praed Street Irregulars, the Speckled Band of Boston, and the Fourth Garrideb (“Others Perhaps Less Excusable”).
